Twirly Skirt and Rose Granny Diamond Top with Kerchief

I was able to get a skirt done to match the halter and kerchief I made in
February.

an item that you have made from my patterns, please be kind to provide the

Rose Granny Diamond Halter
G Hook
Sugar n’ Cream Cotton yarn (I use cotton yarn on cones. I don’t remember how
much I used)
Sizing: approx. a size 4
I made this pattern up in Feb. I’m just now getting the pattern written. There
might be errors as I haven’t made it since that time. I’m sorry if there are. I
hope to make another one for next year, but I haven’t had time.
I made a Rose granny square. I used Maggie Weldon’s pattern from her Afghans in
Bloom leaflet. I can’t give this pattern out as it’s not mine and it would be
violating copyright laws. So you can use any granny rose square pattern if you
would like. My square was approx. 3” square. The rose was in the middle then 2
rows of granny square.
I took my square and from there, I hdc on 2 sides of the square (approx. 11 hdc).
I did 3 hdc in the corner. At the end, I ch 1 and turn.
Row 2 – 23: Hdc across, do 3 hdc in corner stitches. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 24- 29: Sc around the diamond. Do 3 sc in each corner.
I did a 7 dc shell border around. I did leave a blank spot at the top for wear
it hits my daughter’s neck. I also used 9 dc in the corners to make it lay
right.
I made 2 ties for around the waist. Ch 6, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc across,
ch 2 and turn. Repeat for 25 rows. On one strap, sew 3 buttons. On the other
side, leave holes for the buttons on Row 14, 17, and 21. Approximately….I hope
to write this out better when I make another one and refine the pattern better.
I made 1 tie for around the neck. I used the same concept as the other ties. I
put the button on the underside of the diamond at the top. So the strap wraps
around the neck and buttons. I found this style comfortable and stylish. It’s
easy to get on and off and lays flat on the neck.
I apologize for the roughness of the pattern. I kept thinking I would get back
to this and just didn’t. So here it is in rough form…. I want to make Shaelynn a
bigger one for next year, so I do hope to write this pattern out better next
time.

Little Girl’s Kerchief
I used a H hook and the same cotton yarn.
Ch 4, slip st tog to creat a ring. Ch 3, count this as first dc. Dc 3 more times
in ring, ch 2 and dc 4 times and turn. Slip st in between the 1st dc and the 2nd
dc, ch 3 and dc 3 more times. 3 dc in corner, ch 2, 3 more dc (this makes the
corner). Do 4 dc in between the 3rd and 4th dc from the bottom chain, turn.
Follow the granny square pattern…for 11 rows. Then I did a shell edging 7dc with
skipping 3 sts sc and skip 3 sts, 7dc…repeat this around the triangle. Ch 50 for
straps on either point.
