Striped Delight Skirt

If you post a picture somewhere else on the internet of an item that you have made from my patterns, please be kind to provide the direct link to my website.  Do not change names of my patterns.  I’ve worked hard on these patterns and changing the name does not change the pattern.  This is a copyrighted pattern.  Be respectful of that fact.

H hook
3 oz purple ww yarn estimate
3 oz white ww yarn estimate (I used big skeins of both colors)
I'm working on fall clothes for my daughter, so I've used ww yarn. You could substitue cotton yarn for those who live in warmer climates.

Sizing: a size 4

Purple: Ch 80, sl st tog. Be careful not to twist chain. You will be working in rounds. Work through both loops.
Round 1: Ch 2, hdc in the same stitch. Then hdc in each stitch around, sl st tog. Sl st to the top of the first hdc, not the ch 2. This pulls the stitches tog so that there is no hole. You hdc in the same stitch at the beginning and then you pull it tog by skipping the ch 2 part. Try this and you’ll see the difference.
Round 2 – 5: Repeat Round 1.
Change to White: Round 6-10: Repeat Row 1.
Change to Purple: Round 11- 15: Repeat Row 1.
Change to White: Round 16: Ch 3, dc in the same stitch. *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in the next stitch. Repeat from * around.
Round 17: Ch 3, Dc in the same stitch. Dc in each stitch around. Remember to Sl st to the top of the first dc, not the ch 3. Just like Round 1. This pulls the stitches together so there aren’t holes left where you join.
Round 18 – 20: Repeat Round 17.
Change to Purple: Round 21- 25: Repeat Round 17.
Round 26: Change to White: *Ch 3, sc in next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog at the end of the round.
Round 27: Change to Purple: *Ch 3, sc in the ch 3 space from the previous row. Repeat from * around.
Round 28: Change to White: Repeat Round 27.
Round 29: Change to Purple: Repeat Round 27.
Round 30: Change to White: Repeat Round 27.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

I use elastic on all my daughter’s clothes. So I take the ¼ inch elastic, measure it to my daughter and cut. Then I sew the one end into a circle. Then I sc the elastic to the first row of the skirt. Fasten off and weave in ends.
