I needed a tote bag to carry my son's snorkeling items. I was tired of hauling the individual items. The bag could be used to carry other beach essentials if desired.
H hook
8 oz of Red Heart 4 ply yarn (I used coffee brown)
Ch 5, sl st tog to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3, 14 dc in ring. Sl st tog.
Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around. Sl st tog.
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, *dc in next st, 2dc. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.
Round 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, *dc in next 2sts, 2dc. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.
Round 5: Ch 3, dc in same st, *dc in next 3sts, 2dc. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.
Round 6: Ch 3, dc in same st, *dc in next 4sts, 2dc. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.
Round 7: Ch 3, dc in same st, *dc in next 7sts, 2dc. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.
Round 8: Ch 3, dc in each st around. Sl st tog.
Round 9: Repeat Round 8.
Round 10: Ch 5, *skip 2 sts, sc, ch 5. Repeat from * around. End with ch 5, sc into ch 5 sp.
Round 11: *Ch 5, sc into ch 5 sp. Repeat from *.
Round 12: Repeat Round 11, but dec 1 ch 5 group.
Round 13: Repeat Round 12.
Rounds 14-23: Repeat Round 11.
Round 24: Sc into a sc, ch 3, dc into the ch 5 sp. Dc in sc. Repeat around. Sl st tog.
Round 25: Ch 3, dc in each st around. Sl st tog.
Round 26: Ch 3, sc in each st around. Sl st tog. Fasten off.
Make a long chain for the tie. Doesn't matter how long. My chain ended up a little long.
