Side Split Plus-Size Skirt

If you post a picture somewhere else on the internet of an item that you have made from my patterns, please be kind to provide the direct link to my website.  Do not change names of my patterns.  I’ve worked hard on these patterns and changing the name does not change the pattern.  This is a copyrighted pattern.  Be respectful of that fact.

6 skeins (5 oz) Simply soft Charcoal Heather

H hook

Measurements" 52" around without elastic in waist, 24 1/2" long

Length can easily be changed by adding more or less rows.

Size can be adapted by using a smaller hook or changing the starting chain count.  Your first chain should be a multiple of 10 plus 4.

This skirt is worked as a rectangle and then I sewed up the short ends to make a side seam.  I did not sew up the whole side, but you could do it either way.  Then I added 1/4" elastic for the waist.  I measured my waist and sewed the ends of the elastic together.  After the skirt was done, then I single crocheted the elastic on the the waist.

Row 1: Ch 200, sc in 2nd ch from hook, *skip 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, skip 2 st, sc in next st.  Repeat from * across.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Dc in first sc, sc in center st of 5 dc group from previous row.  *In next sc, work 5 dc.  Sc in next center st of 5 dc group.  Repeat from * .  End with 2dc in last sc.  Ch 1, turn.

Row 3: Sc in 1st dc, 5dc in next sc. *Sc in center st of 5dc group.  Work 5dc in next sc.  Repeat from * across.  End with sc in top of turning ch. Ch 2, turn.

Rows 4- 59: Repeat Rows 2 and 3 throughout.  I stopped at 59, because I ran out of yarn.  I'm waiting to get more yarn from Walmart when it gets in.  I will add a border and add elastic for the waist.

Weave in ends.

Do the elastic for the waist as per instructions above.
