Princess Dress, Shrug and Hair Tie

I've titled this dress "Princess dress" because that's what Shaelynn calls it. I did this dress up without any pattern. I'm very pleased with myself. I took it one piece at a time. I love the results.

Here's a picture of the yarn. I used simple double crochet stitches because of the bumpy texture of the yarn. The yarn is thin like sport yarn, but with bumps. It's No Boundaries yarn from Walmart called "Cindy".

My daughter wears a size 4. This fits her.

If you post a picture somewhere else on the internet of an item that you have made from my patterns, please be kind to provide the direct link to my website.  Do not change names of my patterns.  I’ve worked hard on these patterns and changing the name does not change the pattern.  This is a copyrighted pattern.  Be respectful of that fact.

Princess Dress
H hook
3 skeins (100 grams each skein) No Boundaries (Walmart) “Cindy” yarn (this yarn is thin like sport yarn and has bumps on it)

Top (Make 2):
Row 1: Ch 40, dc in 3rd ch from the hook and dc across. Ch 3, turn.
Rows 2- 20: Dc across in each st. Ch 3 and turn.
Row 21: Dc in the next 5 sts. (Count the ch 3 as 1 st, so you’ll have a total of 6 sts for the strap). Now sl st across until you have 6sts left. In those 6 sts, dc to the end. So you’ll have 6 dc on each side of the top for the strap.
Row 22: (One side of the top) Now ch 3, dc in the next 5 sts, turn, ch 3 and dc in the next 5 sts. Fasten off, leave a tail to sew top seam together. Now, sl st on other side attach yarn. Ch 3, dc in the next 5 sts across, turn, ch 3, dc in next 5 sts. Fasten off, leave a tail to sew top seam together.
Placing wrong sides together, sew top seams together. Then sl st sides together. Weave in all ends.

You are working in rounds.
Skirt Row 1: Attach yarn with a sl st to bottom of top. Dc in between each st around. (I mean that you don’t dc into the first chain, you actually dc in between those stitches all the way around. It lays better this way.) Sl st tog and ch 3.
Skirt Row 2: Do 2dc in every stitch around, sl st tog, ch 3.
Skirt Rows 3 – 7: Dc in each stitch around, sl st tog, ch 3.
Skirt Row 8: Dc in same space as ch 3, ch 2, 2 dc. *Skip 1 space, then 2dc, ch 2, 2dc in next st. Repeat from * all the way around. Sl st tog to top of first shell,
Skirt Rows 9: Sl st 1 space to the ch 2 space, then 2dc, ch2, 2dc in that space. *2dc, ch 2, 2dc in next ch 2 space. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog to top of first shell.
Skirt Rows 10- 16: Repeat row 9.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
