Ping Pong Pink Skirt

I'm working on Fall clothes for my daughter. I designed this cape in May for pictures. I never got back to making a skirt for it. I finished this up today. Shaelynn will probably wear white tights and a white turtleneck with it. It was too hot to make her put on a turtleneck for pictures. I put a picture of her here when I first made the cape.

If you post a picture somewhere else on the internet of an item that you have made from my patterns, please be kind to provide the direct link to my website.  Do not change names of my patterns.  I’ve worked hard on these patterns and changing the name does not change the pattern.  This is a copyrighted pattern.  Be respectful of that fact.

Ping Pong Pink Skirt
H hook
4 skeins (approx. I forgot to keep track) Ping Pong yarn hot pink

Sizing: a size 4
Ch 80, sl st tog. Be careful not to twist chain.
Round 1: Ch 2, hdc in every stitch around, sl st tog.
Round 2 – 14: Repeat Round 1.
Now comes the hard part for me to explain…
Bottom edging Round 15: Ch 3, dc 4 times in same st, skip next st, sc in following st. *Skip next st, 5dc in next st. Repeat from * around, sl st tog.
Round 16: Sl st to middle of 5dc, which would be the 3rd dc, sc. *Skip to the sc of the previous row, do 5dc in that sc. Sc in the middle of the 5dc. Repeat from *, sl st tog.
Round 17 – Row 20: Repeat Round 16. You may repeat to make skirt longer if needed.
(Basically you are doing a shell stitch, then doing shells in the sc and sc in the top of the shells.)
Round 21: I did a sc around the whole bottom of skirt.

I use elastic on all my daughter’s clothes. So I take the ¼ inch elastic, measure it to my daughter and cut. Then I sew the one end into a circle. Then I sc the elastic to the first row of hdc of the skirt. Fasten off and weave in ends.
