Scrap worsted weight yarn
Round 1: Ch 3, sl st to make a ring.
Round 2: Ch 2, 8 hdc in the ring. Sl st tog.
Round 3: Ch 3, 2 hdc in each st around. Sl st tog.
Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Sl st tog.
Round 5: Ch 2, hdc decrease one st, then hdc in the rest of the stitches around. Sl st tog.
Round 6: Sl st over 5 sts, ch 15. Then sl st to other side of hat and fasten off. Weave in ends.
The strap goes under the chin when hat is worn.
