Cotton Candy Spring Outfit

If you post a picture somewhere else on the internet of an item that you have made from my patterns, please be kind to provide the direct link to my website.  Do not change names of my patterns.  I’ve worked hard on these patterns and changing the name does not change the pattern.  This is a copyrighted pattern.  Be respectful of that fact.

H hook

1- 1# cone of Sugar 'n Cream cotton 4 ply yarn (hot pink) I used one cone to do all 3 projects and still had some leftover.

size approx. 4/5 I make my daughter's clothes bigger to be able to shrink in wash and also to get more use out of them.

measurements: shrug 35" long (wrist to wrist) 10 1/2" width in middle (what would be the back)  skirt 21 1/2" at waist with elastic in it for my daughter (this can be made bigger-there is plenty of room) 13 1/2" long

Skirt

Round 1: Ch 88, sl st tog to form a ring. Be careful not to twist this. In Back Loops Only, ch 2, hdc in same st. Hdc in each st around. Sl st tog into the first hdc, do not sl st to the ch 2.  I do this as to pull the sides tog as to not leave any holes in the skirt. (Continue doing this on each round)

Round 2: In Both Loops, ch 2, hdc in same st. Hdc in each st around. Sl st tog into the first hdc, do not sl st to the ch 2.

Rounds 3- 16: Repeat Round 2.

Round 17: Ch 3, dc in same st as the ch 3. *Skip 2 sts (dc-ch1-dc) in the next st. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog to the 1st ch 3.

Round 18: Sl st into the sp in between the 2 dc of the previous row, ch 3, 2dc-ch1-3dc in that sp.  *In the next ch 1 sp, dc-ch1-dc. Skip to next ch 1 sp and do 3dc-ch1-3dc. Repeat from * around.  Sl st tog.

Round 19: Sl st to ch 1 sp, Ch 3-ch1-dc in that sp. *In next ch 1 sp, dc-ch1-dc. Repeat from * around. Sl st tog.

Round 20: Repeat Round 18.

Round 21: Repeat Round 19.

Round 22: Repeat Round 18.

Round 23: Repeat Round 19.

Round 24: Repeat Round 18.

Round 25: Repeat Round 19.

Round 26: Repeat Round 18.

Round 27: Repeat Round 19.

Round 28: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Fasten off and weave in ends.

You can make this longer by repeating the pattern.

I use elastic on all my daughter’s clothes. So I take the ¼ inch elastic, measure it to my daughter and cut. Then I sew the one end into a circle. Then I sc the elastic to the first row of the skirt. Fasten off and weave in ends. Tutorial on elastic click here

Shrug

This is just a rectangle that I sew the arms up on.

Row 1: Ch 114, sc in 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each st across.

Row 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as the ch 3. *Skip 2 sts, dc-ch1-dc in the next st.  Repeat down the row. End with a dc in the last st.

Row 3: Sl st to the middle of the two dc from the previous row, ch 3, 2dc-ch1-3dc in that sp. *In the next ch 1 sp, dc-ch1-dc. Skip to next ch 1 sp and do 3dc-ch1-3dc. Repeat from * across.

Row 4: Repeat Row 2.

Row 5: Repeat Row 3.

Row 6: Repeat Row 2.

Row 7: Repeat Row 3.

Row 8: Repeat Row 2.

Row 9: Repeat Row 3.

Row 10: Repeat Row 2.

Row 11: Repeat Row 3.

Row 12: Repeat Row 2.

Row 13: Repeat Row 3.

Row 14: Repeat Row 2.

Row 15: Repeat Row 3. Leave yarn attached and turn the shrug so right sides are facing each other.  Sew arm seam.  Fasten off and weave in ends. Then repeat on other arm.  I sewed up 11" on my daughter's shrug on each side.  But each child is different so measure your child for sure.

If you need it bigger, just continue this pattern.

Weave in all ends.
